SF Senior Power was founded in 2018 by Margaret Graf, a retired attorney & registered nurse who has lived in the Outer Sunset area of San Francisco for 50+ years. She was appointed in 2018 by the SF Board of Supervisors to the Advisory Council to the Dept. of Aging & Adult Services.
Personally dealing with a loved one who suffers from dementia & Alzheimer’s Disease led to a search for a community based social program that would support, educate & inspire others in a similar position to find the strength to deal with daily coping.
The vision of a non-profit organization that would support that goal through preventative care and empower Seniors to care for their physical, mental & emotional health began to take shape after receiving support from the local District Supervisor and has rapidly grown in the community at large by spotlighting special needs of this vulnerable population throughout the City & County of San Francisco.
SF Senior Power is currently funded by grants and support from Community Living Campaign and POPS, a local merchants’ association.
