Senior Power February Meeting: “Love Yourself”
It was hearts all around w/love in the air when Senior Power met on Feb 13, 2020 @ 10AM @ Taraval Police Station. The theme: “Love Yourself/Take Care of Yourself ” brought 20 attendees out to listen to Steven Lopez, the Program Manager of the Hearing & Speech Center give a short course on Hearing 101.
This free program, loaded with valuable information ranging from hearing health info, prevention of hearing loss, resources/technology for hearing support, insurance info, counseling, screening & support groups was augmented by hand-outs for the very responsive audience with multiple questions & experiences to share.
Qigong exercises followed, prior to the announcement of an upcoming Senior Power sponsored Civic Center Field Trip on 3/25/20 which will include a docent led tour of City Hall, visit to Sup. Gordon Mar Office, & free time to take advantage of the SFPL Library book sales & Farmer’s Market before returning to our original meeting place at the Taraval Police Station.
Registration for the trip is required & limited. Attendees also learned of the progress of Mind/Body Class at the Wah Mei School, as well as reminders of upcoming events in D4 & San Francisco. Raffle prizes sweetened the day followed by light refreshments, all with a Valentine Day theme including “hearts for all.”
