Senior Power March updates
Dear Friends,
Much is happening in response to the Coronavirus & people are responding….we are all neighbors & we are all in this together. Here’s somethings to help, to bring some peace of mind & to encourage you all that you are not alone.
1. Supervisor Mar, District 4 has begun a workshop to train volunteer phone workers for telephone Wellness Checks. Many of our Seniors live alone & without outside help. The focus here is to set up a contact system so that we can address our most vulnerable. For this, I need your help….your telephone numbers. Please send to me if you want to be included in this safety measure. Do it for your peace of mind.
2. Sup. Mar, working with the SF/Marin Food Bank has started a Food Pantry today (3/20)! from 9A-1P @ Abraham Lincoln HS (2162 24th AV) . The current plan is it will be operational every Friday,same hrs.
3. Many stores have begun Senior Store Hours starting yesterday (3/19) The hrs vary. Here’s a partial list:Safeway 7A-9A; Tues & Thurs fir Seniors & DisabledTarget Ist hr of business dayWhole Foods: opening 1 hr earlier for seniors & persons w/disabilities
